89 FZR600 Red/White/Blue
-
Race tech gold valve emulators (front fork suspension)
-
Progressive springs
-
110/70 pirelli dragon front tire (major improvement
in feel)
-
single amber halogen bulb (must bend a prong to get
the bulb to squeeze through) kept one bulb white for road safety, the yellow
bulb is highly noticable in traffic
-
ordered two extra bright tail bulbs from Competition
Accessories. Worked great but one burned out in 24 hours. Defective? made
in taiwan... I put a stock taillight back into it, we'll see how long the
other light lasts.
-
L&P f1 carbon fiber mirrors, these look great, as
for visibility it's good and bad. Feels like you can't see as much and
the mirrors aren't as true as stock.
-
Troy Lee dragon kit. Just for cosmetics, to make my
bike look less stock.
-
CR8E plugs, work wonders in cooler climates.
-
Stage 1 intake kit w/ K&N air filter
-
Full Kerker exhaust system (I believe these are discontinued)
-
Solo Seat
-
LP 1/2 Tank Bra
-
Smoke windscreen
-
chopped down rear fender
-
L&P bar ends in aluminum (these don't fit on normally,
they have to be modified)
The current pipe sounds great. The guys from Kerker said they no
longer make a K-series for the FZR but they have the race-only K45. In
terms of performance, the powerband starts to pull strong at 4K all the
way up to 8K. At 8K it insanely fires forward all the way to redline. Due
to the changes in the exhaust and intake, the previous owner dropped the
front sprocket so the power was more usable. Top speed dropped from the
stock 150 something to about a tested 135@11K. Note: the transmission is
only accessible by removing the engine and splitting the crankcase i.e.
don't mess up the transmission or clutch as it will cost about 8.7 work
hours. approx. $500-600.

to get a bike? How did I decide to "ride"? How can I buy the
right bike? What should I look for?
